I got an offer for AMEX Platinum 100K signup which I plan on taking advantage of, but I'd rather wait until the spring to maximize the benefits for our honeymoon and only taking the hit of 1 annual fee. The benefits overlap a lot with my Chase Sapphire Preferred and I'm not sure I would keep the AMEX after taking advantage of the sign-up bonus. Does anyone have experience with how often the 100K comes up?
I did both SW cards and got the Companion Pass which expires this week, it was an amazing benefit, I can't stress enough how much I'd recommend it if you live by a SW airport. I may be mistaken but I don't believe the points you would gain from the Chase card would count towards companion pass, as transferred points do not count towards the pass. But getting both SW cards (occasionally at 60K) is just as easy. It lasts for the calendar year you get the card and the entire next year, so around now would be a good time to apply for those interested in maximizing the benefit, or wait until the next time SW offers >40K which is pretty often.
