Well, like other's have already posted, it's not LSU, it's the massive shadow his father cast. Though, I don't agree with his perception on that shadow thing. Basically he doesn't want to come to LSU with high expectations that he be as good as his dad, I don't see it that way. I would never expect him to come close to being as good as Shaq, not even close. Shaq was a 7 foot 1 280 pound mountain that had freakishly good athletic ability. Nobody, not any competent person who understands the game and difference between him and his dad, would expect him to be as good as Shaq. If he came to LSU and didn't even start, I would not have anything negative to say. I mean, he's basically LSU basketball royalty. Just him being on LSU's team would be fine with me. Like Pistol's boy, he wasn't as good as his dad, and I didn't care, he was royalty. So, I just don't think anybody would rag the kid about his game if he did chose LSU.

It’s a little different. Shareef is a legitimate SEC player. Jason wasn’t a legitimate D 2 player.
