It's more marching orders from elsewhere in the Army than the judge or Trump.

Look, Bergdahl wasn't going to have much more than a few years beyond time served. Now everything gets neatly swept back under the rug and they don't have to waste money rooting out the other bergdahls still in units.

I guarantee a large dose of karma was handled while he was in captivity though.
