Ordered has been restored in the Vikings backfield after Latvius Murray randomly exploded for 113 rushing yards against the Ravens in Week 7. For the third time in four games since Dalvin Cook went down, McKinnon played like the far superior back that he is, posting 14/50/1 rushing and 6/72 receiving on 10 targets. Murray managed just 19/39 rushing and 1/8 receiving, with McKinnon playing on 64% of the snaps compared to Murray’s 36%. According to PFF, 46 of McKinnon’s 50 rushing yards came after contact, which makes his 3.6 YPC look much better. McKinnon dominated after the catch, and he converted for the second time in three games at the goal line – an area where Murray was thought to have the edge. The simple fact is the Vikings offense is way better when McKinnon is on the field, and he’s a high-end RB2 with big upside going down the stretch.
