Who wants to talk about results on the pitch.
If America is playing...it's called a field.
This appropriation of British soccer jargon with kits and pitch...instead of jersey or field - and naming American teams after British teams...never happened years ago..and now it's just embarrasing that fans have appropriated everything from another country to sound legit.
All it said was, we have no idea as a national soccer identity and we aren't proud in being American so we are just going to be your little brother in "football" Futbol, footie.
America could have created its own identity in soccer and they did...in the 70's with the NASL - but the league failed eventually...and then American soccer culture failed again in 90's...and finally soccer culture ditched everything American - jerseys, names, style of play, innovations...and just adopted what was going on overseas.
I guess you have to pretend to be British to follow soccer in America.
And America became EPL - light. And suddenly American players got on that "pitch to play with their best mates in Kansas City to take the piss out of non-soccer fans."
