I have muck boots and they aren't worth a piss in cold weather. They are super comfortable and would be good for your walk, but once you settle in to your stand and cool off, those feet will freeze.

I have always loved Lacrosse and they are the benchmark by which all other rubber boots are made, IMO. Having said that I just bought a pair of Irish Setter (made by Danner) Rutmaster 2.0 boots. They were lighter than the Lacrosse. They also came in 1200g thinsulate.

What socks are you wearing? Could be warm from the walk, then cold when you're sitting because your feet are sweating during the walk.

My mucks are awesome. Merino Wool socks and my feet are always warm.

Irish Setter is made by Red Wing. Danner and Lacrosse are the same company.
