BUT - if you look at this from a business standpoint...have we been very good since 2011? No, not at all. We lose to Bama every year.
Everyone loses to Bama every year. If not for the McNeese game being cancelled in 2015, LSU would have had three 10-win seasons in that timeframe. There are a lot of schools that would love to have that kind of success.
LSU reported $22M in donations directly to the athletic department attributable to football for the 2016 fiscal year - that doesn't include TAF donations. You think that if LSU's program deteriorated to the point that we're barely making bowl games every year, that those contributions would only drop by a few million?

Agree to disagree on the expectations - I do not think Alleva believed we would be squeaking by to be bowl eligible. My thinkining is Alleva believed we would stay middle of the pack - not much dropoff from the past 5 years with Miles, but at a discount.
He holds onto Coach O as long as he can until the right coach comes around, or Saban leaves.
Explain to me otherwise, why would we hire Coach O?
He either isn't convinced we can win a championship, or is the stupidest person on the planet hiring a DL coach with a terrible, losing SEC HC record?
