I got a 1187 in 1987 and have put tens of thousands of rounds through it.
A few years back I took into a shop to get a price on bluing the barrel and while I was there the guy said "let me clean this gun and replace the o-ring".
Took him maybe 30 minutes. We took it outside and it cycled shells like I could not believe. If you have an old 1100 or 1187 it is worth it to change the old o-ring and actually clean in the receiver housing. Like this guy did in this video LINK
To this day that 1187 is my duck gun.
The new ones from Wal Mart just aren't as good.
