I used to hunt in a duck club down blind river in the 90s. Killed mallards almost every hunt. In 2000 somebody set the swamp on fire north of Gramercy. There were birds by the thousands back there in the burnout. That season was something I doubt we ever see again. Didn't take long for the fouchette to take back over and after a couple seasons of nothing but wood ducks, I gave up and started deer hunting.
