Losing Pablo sucks because he's such a notorious character
But, having just finished Season 3, there are plenty of good characters from previous seasons that get developed much more in depth, and they do a good job. There's a new character (Jorge) in Season 3 that helps carry the season, too.
I wasn't crazy about the new DEA guys, though.

The new season was crazy good. Lots of intensity.
Cool thing is they brought in the real Jorge Salcedo as a consultant for this season.
