Both guys living in the era of Marlboro's, Lincoln drop tops, and black an white photos just adds to the coolness of both.
But Newman's ability to remain cool in the fricking 1980s (which ruined the coolness of many entertainers) has to be counted for.
Plus... The bastard played a mean game of pool

No question - I agree with the poster who suggested James Dean. I can't concur with Brando - who was extremely cool for almost 20 years, but lived too long and was weird AF - so that totally crushed his cool vibe into the 80s and 90s.
So, if the top 3 are Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and James Dean (Elvis also blowing his shot at this company by being way too weird down the stretch) - what is that second tier?
Cary Grant? Dean Martin? Sinatra?
Any "younger" guys worth mentioning? Robert Downey, Jr.? Wesley Snipes? Hamm? Paul Rudd? One of the Ryans? Pratt? Cooper?
