I've rolled through a Sonic a few times this week for a Coke Zero and I tell them I have a red tray. They ring it up .99 and I haven't even had to show it yet. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for someone to want to see it.
The courageous person could probably bluff and if challenged dig through the console and say that their spouse must have grabbed it.
