I think a mistake a lot of people are making here is assuming transgendered = man wanting to be female.

I've never been in the military but it wouldn't surprise me if the women wanting to be dudes were far more likely to join. A lot of the military women I've seen seem to have that vibe - butch haircut, drive a truck, etc. You see this with cops as well, and cops are very similar to the military.

To be honest, a trangendered female would probably make a much better soldier than some regular chick, because they're more masculine and you don't have to worry about officers getting busted for affairs, etc.
