So you are telling me that if Trump had told Sessions not to appoint a SP, Sessions would have done so regardless?
Sigh.. Sessions is recused from any dealings with any Russians investigation. It wasn't his call. Rosenstein let the white house know that he was appointing Mueller about 20 minutes before it happened. Trump had absolutely zero knowledge or input.
Now, had he had knowledge beforehand, would he have fired Rosenstein? Well that's anybody's guess. He still could, and might.

Yes, he recused himself, but didn't have too. That's a big point.
