I doubt any of those companies would make a deal that cost them money (delivering for below their own cost), but if they were willing, then hell yes, let them do it instead of the USPS doing it and costing ME money.

Exactly. It seems most on this thread do not understand that if it is delivered BELOW cost, then it is costing the USPS money to deliver packages for Amazon. Where does USPS get its money? Oh, that's right, from us.
Now, as an Amazon Prime subscriber, I am thrilled. Instead of the delivery costs being spread out across Amazon Prime users, it is being spread across all U.S. taxpayers. That means my subscription and/or the costs of my purchases won't be increased as much. Thanks fo subsidizing my purchases!
