You weren't confused. You're just being smugly obtuse. Absent any actual evidence of wrongdoing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
Nearly every president this country has had either appointed a family member to a high ranking position or used their counsel extensively. Hell, there are numerous examples of wives, etc essentially running the WH due to a Presidents health issues. This is the biggest nothing burger of all.
