.) Losing Walker hurt our pitching staff big time.
.) Beating Oregon State twice in a row was a feat in and off itself.
.) Our best players did NOT come through for us during these 2 games. It's not a knock on them. They got us here. We just needed a big knock from Diechman or a 3 for 3 night from one of the top 2 batters.
.) Game 2 was a total team loss. Everyone had a hand in it. Whether it was a defensive error, poor base-running, or striking out with 2 on and nobody out, everyone that played would like to have 1 or 2 situations back to do-over.
.) Florida, although not very flashy, played almost flawless baseball. No errors. Patience at the plate. No base-running blunders. We did not.
.) We had our chances in both games but we just couldn't get over the hump.... and that's ok. That's baseball. Obviously, it wasn't meant to be. There were too many things going Florida's way.
.) All in all I'm super proud of our team. You could tell how much they wanted it and how much they cared about each other. They just came up a little bit short of their ultimate goal.
