I would have just smoked the pork butt just to see how it cooks. Brisket is always going to be tricky anytime you smoke it, but as a first cook on a new cooker, that makes it even harder to get right.

Brisket was easy the first time on the barrel. Just got to pay attention to the brisket temp. It's pretty hard to screw up using the Pit Barrel.
