Jordan over Ehlo was the shot that defined the generation.

I get Magic's was in the Finals, but Jordan defined the generation more than Magic ever did.

For Gen X - Magic was a little early...the NBA hadn't yet rebounded from the disastrous 70's - but Magic's shot and finally beating the Lakers transformed the NBA.

But Jordan was the bigger star and influence on Gen Xers most likely. Everyone talked about Jordan in the late 80's way before he had won a single title.

Sure, but in the late 80s and early 90s, there was also talk that Drexler was the better player. The idea that Jordan was even in the neighborhood of his current status back then is balogna.

ETA: Not that Drexler was better than Jordan straight up, but that Drexler was going to get a championship before Jordan. Shouldn't have phrased it the way I did originally.
