Facebook, and social media in general, has it's plusses, but people just act way differently on it than they would in an everyday conversation.

Especially when it comes to race, politics, religion, etc. You have an audience of almost every friend/acquaintance you know watching every word you post, so people feel the need to prove themselves right in an argument to the point where they become rude and downright hateful to others. I've seen so many posts where people treat others like shite to try and make themselves seem "right" on a topic. And you know these people would never speak to others that way in person.

That's why I don't post that much on FB. If I want to have a conversation with someone about race, politics, or religion I'm doing it in person over a beer, joint, or coffee.
