I'm not saying the quality of movie isn't better, but if you honestly find Birdman more entertaining than smthg like Pirates then I would be forced to assume you're an incredibly mundane individual...... most people go for entertainment right? Id much rather go see Pirates in a theater than Birdman, regardless of the Oscar buzz and ratings.....and RT doesnt take that into account
