Especially when you truly love that person, they love you in return, you both actually want to be together, yet you simply can't get on the same page and come to terms with the fact that it simply won't work. It hurts knowing it won't work when you still want it to. I know this is the wrong place to talk about this, but I just needed to vent, as I have nowhere else to go at the moment.
