Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'll head to a gaser. All this diesel reading has me spooked. I'd like to pull a camper every now and then. I just don't want to throw money on a diesel if I don't need it.

Unless it was an insanely good deal.

What years were the lb7im to stay away from? I've heard the lbz's are where its at

Edit: anyone ever buy a rebuilt title? I've found several solid deals. I'm not sure you can get insurance on them from but a select few. I'd have to call about that

01-04... injectors only issue

04.5 & 05 was the lly some overheat issues in extremely hot climates cheap mods(lbz intake horn) fix that...

06 & 07 WAS the Lbz solid motor glow plugs seem to be the only issues

07.5 To 2010 LMM...basically a Lbz with DPF on it...DPF deletes gives substantial mpg increase...

2011 up adds DEF better towing vehicle through frame improvements etc..NOX sensors are a common failure point($225)
