You're going to need to be under medical supervision when you quit or youll probably have delirium tremens which can kill you.

I've quit for 24 hours before but that's because I had a root canal and got vicodin.
One time during mardi gras (circa 2001) I was so drunk i actually tried to pee in a street musicians guitar case... He called the cops and I got in one good shot before spending the night in jail.
I've been better since then.
