You are doing your part and should not feel like what you do is any less than those before you. We don't make the call on when we go, we just answer it when it comes. I have served 16 years in the Army National Guard and somehow have never deployed, but that call came a few months ago and I will be leaving soon. It sucks that I get it now when I am older and have a family, but that is how it goes. Keep doing what you are doing and stay ready.
