Etling has been inconsistent and was at Purdue as well. But, he doesnt lose the game and has shown he can handle the job.

He has always and will always be inconsistent based on his entire football career to date. He doesn't lose the game when he's not allowed to do anything other than hand it off to a 200 yd/game back and you babysit him.

We've been babysitting QB's for 6 or 7 years and it's time to actually give someone a real chance to feel confident to make plays. Not like to 10 percent of snaps the rest of the group had to split in the spring.

Exactly why we need to cut our losses now and start grooming someone with more promise. DE is just not good. I'll eat crow if he miraculously improves and turns into a decent QB.

He's already better than decent. Obviously, you have no idea how difficult this position is for a first time starter in this league. Look around this league, where are the QB's better than Etling?
LSU is playing for this freaking year! You dont "cut your losses" until the season is lost, which is most likely after 3 league losses, the way these teams cannabalize each other.

LSU would not be the 2nd favorite to win the SEC, if Etling wasnt the perceived starter.

But, you know more than the coaches and Vegas.

BTW, Who's your choice to start over Etling?
