Rare cards are almost non-existent in the Walmart (retail) packs. Do yourself a favor and stop in a card shop, preferably a sports card shop and buy them there. You will probably pay an extra $0.50 per pack but you'll get better cards.
And if you do go to a sports card shop, plan to stick around and talk to the owner. Your interest will most likely increase.
