It ain't fair to make out like this is not pretty common....I would bet that most Americans are not aware of the fact that part of Ireland is part of the UK while the majority is not...
Either way one of the best trips you will ever make...especially if you can manage to work in some shooting or fishing....

I don't disagree
But, to engage in politics and not know that Ireland is split is pretty dumb.
How can you even grow up in the US and not realize that Ireland is a split country for hundreds of years?
