At the time, we were naive.
McGwire had always hit homeruns and seemed like a Paul Bunyon...(he was a Bash Bro...he had a history of awesomness, nobody questioned them.
)
People seemed to only question someone who comes out of nowhere...is suddenly huge the next year.
Hojo...got questioned.
In the early 90's.
Sosa was murmured about:
But damn, McGwire kept getting bigger and bigger and nobody really said anything.

Jose can believe to get a pass, he exploded in the crazy 80's where all our action movie stars were huge...football players were huge...it was American gladiators.
People thought, this is normal.
I mean this is 1988...and nobody said boo. If Sly and Arnold can be huge, and so many NFL players...why not baseball?
Before Jose, the everyday baseball player looked like Paul Molitor.
