You know, for the longest time (been married for almost 9 years), my wife didn't want a thing to do with video games. it caused us a TON of issues early on in our marriage. So like any respectful husband, we sat down and worked out a schedule for gaming. This way I had my time to relax and de-stress and then there was time for her and I (and the kids later on down the road). This schedule eventually played a huge role as it was based on my streaming schedule. So not only was I able to play games do de-stress, I was able to give my potential viewers a solid schedule so they knew when I would be on.
Fast forward a few years and a few kids and the schedule remains mostly the same. We have 3 kids now, so sometimes my stream will start a bit late, or I will cut it off a bit early if I am just exhausted or if she needs help with something. Here in the last 6 months or so, she started sitting in on some of my streams and talking with my viewers and found herself having fun. So I bought a game upon recommendation (Until Dawn) and she streamed on my channel and got addicted. She now owns her own PS4, her own Twitch channel and we are working on getting an office space for the both of us to game when we get down time.
Tl;dr - my wife wasn't fond of my gaming but I told her it was my hobby so she accepted it. We came up with a schedule to split between de-stressing with gaming and family time. She started watching me play, and tried streaming herself and loved it. She now games occasionally with me or on her own.
