Long time lurker, first time poster. What's up people of the OB?
I searched for some beginner bass threads, and I may have missed something but I didn't see much recent stuff.
I will be at my camp next week to turkey hunt. It is on the MS river, near the LA/AR border. There are several sloughs and bayous (about 6-8ft deep at the most), as well as a good sized lake and some flooded timber. All are connected to the river. I am looking to spend the afternoons bass/sac a lait fishing after turkey hunting in the morning. Looking for pointers and tips on fishing this type of water.
TIA and I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

It's tough when it's high because you have basically the same amount if fish in twice the water.
Watch the river gauges north of you and when it falls it's like a light switch goes off. Be there when it does

that sounds like a good job for a bucket of shiners and a pile of yo-yo's...
figure out which state you are in though, as they are illegal in some states.
