That's assault in a lot of states. I'm assuming this is the case in Georgia and the judge gave them the max considering the circumstances.
All signs point to them not being jailed for displaying Confederate flags.

Yeah this is one of those cases where the sentence might be harsh, but I'm going to waste 0 time defending them.
