Is chess or darts a D1 sport?
Not a sport but even so women can't compete with the men in chess. The currently active women's world #1 who is actually fairly dominant to her peers would be just out of the top 100 compared to men. There has only ever been 1 woman, a pretty extreme outlier, who could compete at a truly elite and even level with the top men.
As you can see with the chess example there is more to it than just physical limitations. Maybe it is mostly a cultural thing. I don't know. But in general, women just don't care about competing like men do.
