Not if you have a pre-existing condition. And often it capped the coverage at a lifetime maximum - not very useful for those with chronic conditions or very serious oncology dx.

And yet, somehow lower than if they tried to get the same coverage without insurance. It's funny how that works.

Seems the solution would be to have insurance prior to that event.
