I can understand if he just likes Clemson and what it has to offer, but letting pride get in the way gets you nowhere.
Let's say I was a candidate for a job I really wanted, but I hadn't received an offer for a year. I knew that HR was pursuing candidates with more experience and better skillsets. My company was competing with multiple other companies to hire these candidates, and the others decide to go elsewhere.
If the time comes and I get offered the job before I receive any other offers from outside companies, you better believe I am taking my dream job. I don't take my ball and go home because I let pride get in the way.
