You really want to get up an hour earlier every day just to sit in a car? And drive an hour home everyday? What a waste of life to me. Instead of getting home at 6:30 you now get home at 7:30. Instead of leaving home at 6am you now leave at 5am.
Unless you literally live on your office doorstep, you're not adding an hour to your commute. I've been doing it since 2007. Been carpooling since 2011 which makes it easier, but it still didn't bother me before. I leave around 5:10AM, get to the office in the CBD before 6, leave at 4 and get home in about 50 minutes.
