Mechanical failures can happen to any boat including new ones, there was a boat shop employee out test running a new boat down here a couple years ago and it blew the fitting off the hydraulic steering line and it threw him out and it came around and hit him and he didn't survive the accident. A applied Kill switch probably would have saved his life, steering failure of some type is my biggest concern on mine when running as fast as we are.
