I think the misspelled names have been spotted.
Not listed but closely known to me:
David - Dah-Veed
Rigaud - Ree-go
Eschete' - Esch-Tay
My aunt's in-laws once asked her how she like living in Thib-a-Docks.
I have relatives named Rene', Emile, Aurelie, Hansell, Aubenia, Odette, and Lydia (pronounced Lee-Jah, y'all), etc.
LSU has had some notable French-named players such as Garland Jean-Baptiste and Ricky Jean-Francois, and a fullback whose given name was Chaille (pronounced Shelly). I do find it irritating when the professional athletic event announcers can't even get LeBlanc right. C'Mon man, you're getting paid - do a little homework.
