I don't shoot bucks unless they are mature, so I may go several seasons without killing a buck. I usually take 4-5 does a year for meat. Honestly, I had just gotten to where there was no thrill in shooting a doe 150 yards away with a rifle. But when you have to get them in close, get drawn back without getting busted, and put that arrow in just the right place, that's enough to get the adrenaline pumping, even with a doe.
