The chain of custody ends at 12:01 and staff members all lose their jobs at that time. This doesn't seem like a strange event. At 12:01 the nuclear football is turned over and they are all basically unemployed. I watched a tv show on this 2 days ago.

Dude you are asking why when that same party had people remove the letter "W" from computer keyboards at the WH before Bush got there
