This isn't him being a philanthropist. his company is the largest online retailer and he realizes eventually he will have to collect tax for all states. This is about making the smaller online retailers collect tax so people don't pursue the ideas in this thread and find a way around it. People going to newegg, etc would be lost revenue; that's what he's trying to avoid. This isn't about him wanting to have a level playing field with Brick & Mortar stores.
