Etling looked like a freshman because he had zero time to throw.

The throw to Chark was great, but it was one of only a few opportunities he had to actually throw downfield. I do agree that he should have been more effective in his short passes though.

But his success in that game relied completely on the running game and pass protection which failed miserably.

You missed me with this. These are the type of games that I measure talent. When protection breaks down. I judge a QB by how well he handles performing in the midst of chaos. Etling tripped over his own feet, and was slow footed when trying to evade the rush. Its not about performing well when everybody around is doing great. Its about "what does adversity bring out of you."
