I agree with this statement. Though I also believe that the majority of head coaches are "manager" type head coaches. Every head coach comes from either of defensive or offensive background, but most are not so elite that the completely handle the offense(Spurrier) or defense(Saban. There just aren't that many tried and true ballside genius football coaches to go around.
