Anyone bought or have one? Is it actually worth buying right now?

I suspect that if you're an early adopter on vr that you're paying money for a gimmick with a cheap thrill that doesn't last long
I will wait to see if they're still doing it next gen and play something a bit more refined
But I've never played a vr game at all, just my thoughts based on the footage and ad marketing

a couple of friends have them...it's absolutely amazing.
"footage" doesn't do it justice at all. You can't tell how fun this shite is from seeing a screen of someone else playing, you actually have to strap on the headset to understand.
I have played Eve Valkyrie a few times now and it just blows my mind every time I get to play it. It's a game where you fly spaceships and have dog fights. I've only played a little bit of the single player campaign, but it has a huge online experience which is essentially a bunch of people with VR gear fighting each other on teams, but in space...with space ships.
Only other stuff I have played are demo games, but still enjoyable.

damn... with fire trucks would have been better.
Like the time Kramer was the trailer wheel man.
The zero-G affect of driving a fire truck trailer in space in the middle of a dog-fight :mind boggling:

fire trucks would be awesome.

Are there a lot of wires running from the headset to the console?
Does it make you feel motion sick or anything like that? Watching videos I've always felt like it would make me dizzy or something like that.

there is one set of wires that runs to everything, but everything I've played has been seated...so you don't really have to worry much with the wires getting in the way or anything like that.
I haven't personally had any issues with adjusting to the VR. Some people I've seen try it out have had to take it off rather abruptly due to feeling sick, but it seems to get less and less frequent the more it is used. my buddy said he had some issues at first when he could only play for 10-15 minutes at a time before he felt sick. same for his wife, and she mentioned getting a little dizzy after taking off the headset and going to stand up the first time.

I tested it out in Minneapolis a couple of months ago. Tried out the Eve FPS space shooter. While it was neat at first, after 3-4 minutes into it, I quickly forgot that I was using VR and not just looking at a screen. It's neat, but I think it has a long ways to go.
