Enlighten me recruiting gurus

I've always heard that most of the recruiting is done by the Asst coaches and the head coach is more "the closer." Is this correct? And now that O is the HC does this in a strange way lessen his affectiveness as a recruiter?

No he can actually recruit harder now. Make no mistake about it, Lsu will recruit VERY well under O.
