We discovered that a female cousin back in West Virginia is now dating a black guy. This is quite a feat for a number of reasons. If you ever travel to West Virginia, you will be hard-pressed to find any sort of minorities. Don't be fooled by Randy Moss and Rand U. West Virginia has very few brotha's walking around.

As far as we know, she is the first female in the family to sample the BBC, or at least openly admit to it; oddly enough, she's from an upper middle class, albeit "redneckish", household.

Well, it turns out that one of the older relatives did not approve of the relationship. What's peculiar about the elder male's objection to the ebony/ivory duo is his track record with morality and social issues.

He is now an atheist after his daughter suffered from a terminal illness during childhood (swore off God because he felt that no deity would inflict such harm on a child). That same daughter has had three children out of wedlock, with multiple fathers.

Also, apparently he finally approves of another cousin's homosexual orientation, despite his initial repulsion. This seemed to be an indication of some significant social progress.

So, for those of you keeping track at home. This is the moral compass of my relative:
-Homosexuals = Acceptable
-Atheism = Acceptable
-Childbirth out of wedlock = Acceptable
-Interracial relationships = frick THAT shite, NOT IN THIS FAMILY
