Color alone has absolutely no bearing on how your dog will turn out. O, zip, none, notta. That being said there are 3 colors of labs- black, yellow and chocolate. I'm not commenting on any other bastardized color.

People say otherwise because the pool of quality black dogs is much larger. A trifactored dog doesnt give lesser genetics to non-black pups.

Amen. I wish I could give you more up votes.
I've owned a yellow and a black. Yellow was a beast of a retriever, smart and loving. The black was sweet, loving but not driven like the yellow. Currently have a chocolate that came from a silver dad. Sweet as can be and retrieves well.
I refuse to recognize silvers as a pure lab. If I would have wanted a Weimaraner I would have bought one.
