when I was in high school, the best teams were Jesuit, Brother Martin, Lafayette High, Caddo Magnet and Captain Shreve got good for a year or two, Acadiana was pretty good. There was no real threat from Baton Rouge.

There still isn't a BR threat, really. Our teams almost never make the title game. I think the talent level in Baton Rouge soccer is comparable to NOLA and Mandeville, it's just our talent gets split out so much between a lot of schools compared to those other areas. Even the smaller schools like us and Episcopal get lots of good club players.
If Caddo Magnet was good when you played, that sounds like mid to late 2000s to me. Would that be right? I think Jesuit will get back on track soon, they just haven't been much of a factor the past three years, despite making the title game in 2015.
