Yes, he is a character who is able to break the 4th wall which means he is aware he is in a comic/movie and will often talk to the reader/audience.

i thought the movie was really good, and i'm not a ryan reynolds fan, but this part was a perfect fit for him..
hopefully in next deadpool, they continue the interaction with Colossus and Negasonic, it was entertaining and funny.
With so many bad super hero shows and movies lately, this was a breath of fresh air.
