Colt M1878 Frontier Six Shooter, 44-40, 5.5", serial number puts manufacture date in 1892 inherited from my uncle:
My uncle was a machinist and did some work for a guy that gave him the gun in trade. It had a broken sear, so my uncle machined a new one and got the gun in working order - but unfortunately he buffed almost all the blueing off. All the markings are still clearly visible, though.
Still a sweet revolver. All I need now is an old '73 Winny to match.
